1. Purchasing Our Services

When you purchase a course or lesson package from Universum der Sprachen (UDS), you agree to the applicable product description, our General Terms and Conditions (GTC), and this Purchase & Cancellation Policy.

A lesson is considered officially scheduled once you receive an official lesson invitation from a member of the UDS team.

Individual lesson packages are available in packages of 4, 8 or 12 lessons.

Recurring individual lesson plans are paid one month in advance.

Group courses are generally paid for by one-time payment.

All prices are displayed before payment is completed.

2. Individual Lessons (1:1)

Individual lessons offer greater flexibility than group courses.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an individual lesson, please contact UDS within the applicable cancellation period communicated to you when booking.

If the lesson is cancelled or rescheduled within the permitted period, the lesson will not be deducted from your package.

If the lesson is cancelled too late or you do not attend the scheduled lesson, the lesson may be deducted from your package and considered completed.

3. Group Courses

Group courses have a fixed weekly schedule.

Group lessons cannot be individually cancelled, rescheduled or made up.

If you are unable to attend a group lesson, the lesson will still count as part of the course.

Students may join a group course after it has started if places are available.

Group courses require a minimum of 4 participants and have a maximum of 8 participants.

If fewer than 4 participants are available, UDS may offer:

  • a full refund;

  • transfer to another available group or day; or

  • an alternative type of lesson.

4. Trial Lesson

UDS offers one free 30-minute trial lesson per person.

The trial lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled.

There is no obligation to purchase a course or lesson package after the trial lesson.

5. Pausing a Subscription

Recurring monthly individual lesson plans can be paused at any time.

During the pause, no further regular payments will be charged.

Previously purchased and unused lessons remain available to the customer.

Lesson packages have no expiration date.

6. Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with the applicable product terms, our GTC and mandatory statutory consumer rights.

If a teacher becomes permanently unavailable, the customer may choose between:

  • transferring the remaining unused lessons to another qualified UDS teacher; or

  • receiving a refund for the remaining unused lessons.

If a group course does not reach the required minimum of 4 participants, UDS may offer a full refund, transfer to another group/day, or an alternative lesson format.

Unused individual lessons generally remain available as credit and do not expire.

7. Failed Payments

If a payment fails, UDS may retry the payment.

After three unsuccessful payment attempts, UDS may suspend or terminate the relevant service or contractual relationship.

Any remaining unused lesson credit will be handled in accordance with the applicable contractual and statutory provisions.

8. Statutory Right of Withdrawal

Consumers may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for contracts concluded online, subject to the applicable legal requirements.

Nothing in this Purchase & Cancellation Policy limits any mandatory statutory consumer rights.
